Giving Back

Levade Kentucky is committed to giving back to our equestrian community.  We support non-profit organizations focused on youth, education and promoting diversity in horse sports.

 

Saddle Up and Read is a non-profit based in Wendell, NC - their mission is to encourage literary excellence through equine activities and to inspire a love for reading so children develop into lifelong readers.  Founder Caitlin Gooch (noticed literacy rates in North Carolina were low and created an incentive with a local library.  The reward for children reading and checking out 3 or more books from the library was a day at Caitlin’s father’s horse farm. The program was huge success and led to the founding of Saddle Up and Read. Saddle Up and Read assists schools, libraries, youth groups and Pre-K classrooms to build literacy skills and increase the number of grade level readers.
